The Fabia is available with five engines - three petrol and two diesel. Clean, efficient
and great to use, all five powerplants complement the Fabia’s contemporary design and
with outputs from 60PS to 180PS, they make the ownership experience even richer.
The petrol range starts with a 1.2-litre 6 valve engine which generates 60PS and
108Nm of torque. Developed by SkodaAuto at Mladá Boleslav, this clever three-cylinder
aluminium powerplant offers exceptional fuel economy and low emissions.
69PS, 12 valve version of the same engine sits above it in the range and delivers
more torque without harming fuel economy or emissions. Both three-cylinder units
give the Fabia real character and deliver performance that belie their size.
Further up the petrol range is a punchy 1.2-litre four-cylinder delivering 86PS
to 105PS. With CO2 emissions as low as 121g/km and the ability to return 54.3mpg
on the EU combined cycle, this 16 valve engine delivers smooth acceleration and
impressive high-speed cruising ability.
The most powerful petrol engine available is a 1.4-litre four-cylinder unit delivering
180PS and 250 Nm of torque at 2,000-4,500 rpm. With CO2 emissions of just 148g/km and the
ability to return 45.6mpg on the EU combined cycle, this 16 valve engine delivers lively
acceleration and powerful mid-range reactions without hurting fuel economy.
The heart of the new, spectacular Fabia vRS is a supercharged, turbocharged 1.4TSI
petrol engine with advanced seven-speed automatic dual-clutch Direct Shift gearbox.
It’ll develop 180PS and accelerate from 0-62mph in just 7.3 seconds, with a top
speed of 139mph on the track. It makes the vRS the fastest, feistiest, most
powerful Fabia ever.
The 1.2-litre TDI 3-cylinder engine produces 75PS and strikes the perfect balance
between drivability and fuel efficiency. With a rewarding engine note and unusually
high reserves of low-down torque, the1.2-litre unit punches well above its weight.
At the top of the diesel range is a powerful 1.6-litre, four-cylinder unit that
produces between 75-105PS. Smooth yet punchy, the Fabia’s range-topping motor
generates up to 240 Nm at 1,500-2,500 rpm, making it an extremely flexible performer.
